Country music is not everything you will find in Nashville, however it is certainly at the core
of this lovely city. From the Country Music Hall of Fame, to the Grand Ole Opry and to the downtown "District", it is
hard to imagine Nashville without country music. In 1925 the "Opry" hit the airwaves with weekly shows
featuring the country movement. Most of the famous country singers started out here, usually in the Ryman Auditorium
downtown. If they were good enough, they would be asked to go on the show at the Grand Ole Opry, just outside of town.
The "District" in the old part of downtown is where a lot of the local entertainment is found today. You
can walk into one of the spots there and might see an up and coming new star or even a famous star. Whatever you
experience you can depend on great music, wonderful southern cooking and very friendly people. Don't
miss Nashville, it is a real hoot!
